SunExpress carried 16 million passengers in 2025: generated 2.1 billion euros in revenue

SunExpress, a joint venture between
Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, carried approximately 16 million passengers in
2025, recording a 7% increase in passenger numbers compared to the previous
year. During the same period, the airline generated revenue of 2.1 billion
euros (93.7 billion TL), a 5.4% increase compared to the previous year.
SunExpress added 15 new international routes to its
flight network in the 2025 summer season, increasing its seat capacity by 11%
compared to 2024. The airline added five factory-new aircraft to its fleet in
2025 and completed the year with an 82% load factor, continuing its operations
with a fleet of 85 aircraft.
Six out of every ten visitors from Germany
traveled with SunExpress
SunExpress maintained its position in 2025 as the
airline offering the highest number of direct connections between
German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) and Türkiye.
Germany, the airline's main market, ranked second among the countries sending
the most visitors to Turkey in 2025, with approximately 6.8 million visitors.
Last year, 4 million passengers traveling from Germany to Türkiye chose
SunExpress, accounting for approximately 60% of the total passenger traffic on
the Germany-Türkiye route.
Expansion in the United Kingdom and
Ireland market
Continuing its growth in the United Kingdom and
Ireland market last year, the airline quadrupled its seat capacity compared to
2022, the year it entered the market. In addition, the number of passengers it
carried between Turkey and the United Kingdom and Ireland increased by 19% in
2025 to 1.6 million compared to the previous year.
