The village of Glommerstrask in the northeastern Lapland region of the country will offer financial support to families considering emigrating.

According to a report in Euronews, a local organization called “Glommersbygdens Framtid” (Glommersbygdens Framtid), which means the future of the village, has rolled up its sleeves for the village of Glommerstrask, whose population has fallen to 200, and is offering 10,000 kroner (32,674 Turkish Liras) in local currency to the first five families to move to the village.

To be eligible, families must have children of primary school age (between 6 and 15 years old) and attend the local school for at least one academic year.
