Bulgaria and Romania have become full members of Schengen, the visa-free travel area of the European Union (EU).
At a meeting of EU Interior Ministers in Brussels, Belgium, it was decided to include Bulgaria and Romania in the Schengen area. The two countries were included in the EU's free travel zone by sea and air on March 31.
