Japanese weather officials have announced that cherry blossoms have begun to bloom in Tokyo.
In a statement made by the Meteorological Agency, it was stated that six flowers bloomed on a cherry tree at Yasukuni Shrine in the capital. The statement said that ‘no blossoming buds were detected the previous day, but the warming of the weather with the temperature rising above 25 degrees Celsius helped the buds to open’.
Cherry trees in Tokyo are expected to fully bloom in a week to 10 days.
