The Acropolis Temple has been closed to visitors due to extreme heat in the Greek capital Athens.

The Greek Ministry of Culture has ordered the partial closure of the Acropolis Temple for the protection of visitors due to the heat wave. In a statement released by the ministry, it was noted that the site will be closed between 13.00-17.00 local time ‘for the safety of employees and visitors due to high temperatures’.
