The US State Department has implemented a policy requiring visa applicants to disclose the social media accounts they have used in the last five years.

With this policy, the US will search the social media accounts of all visa applicants for signs of hostility towards US citizens, culture or founding principles. This vetting is intended to ensure that the US does not admit anyone who could be considered a threat.
