A passenger train derailed in
Baden-Württemberg state of Germany, killing 3 people and injuring 41 others.
It was reported that 3 people were killed and 41
people were injured when a train with about 100 passengers derailed near the
city of Riedlingen in Baden-Württemberg state in southwestern Germany. After
the accident, many search and rescue teams were dispatched to the region, while
the injured were taken to the surrounding hospitals by ambulances and
helicopters.
According to the joint statement of the police and the
prosecutor's office, the investigation into the derailment of the passenger
train has not yet been completed, but according to preliminary information, it
is estimated that a sewage well may have overflowed due to heavy rain in the
area where the accident occurred. It was also stated that the victims were the
train's engineer, an employee of the train company and a passenger.
