Aiman, a fully integrated artificial
intelligence chef who creates menus, develops recipes, recommends ingredients
and manages kitchen operations, as well as being a digital assistant, developed
by UAE-based culinary technology startup UMAI, will soon lead the kitchen of
the soon-to-open WOOHOO restaurant in Downtown Dubai with celebrity chef Reif
Othman.
Dubai is breaking new ground in the world of
gastronomy with Chef Aiman, proving once again that it is a global innovation
leader. Chef Aiman will contribute to the menu of the Woohoo restaurant to be
opened in Dubai, which is seen as a bold step that is of great importance for
the future of the gastronomy world. Created by the UMAI development team to
push the boundaries of what is possible in the kitchen, Chef Aiman aims to
further empower chefs and is also positioned as a co-pilot in kitchens.
Chef Reif Othman, known for his pioneering work at
Zuma and head of REIF Japanese Kushiyaki, will accompany Chef Aiman on this
journey. Othman, one of the most respected chefs in the region, will contribute
to the project with his human creativity and deep expertise in fine dining. The
two chefs will first showcase their skills at WOOHOO, a Japanese restaurant
operated by Gastronaut Hospitality, which is scheduled to open soon. This will
be the first time an AI will shape a restaurant experience alongside a
Michelin-level chef.
In his first interview on podcast platforms, Chef
Aiman, who attracted attention in the food and beverage industry, offers
insights on many topics from taste algorithms to culinary ethics. Unlike
artificial intelligence, which is traditionally used in the background in
customer service, Chef Aiman is at the center of the stage. With machine
learning capabilities fed by global culinary data, the chef is able to make
custom flavor pairings based on seasonal produce, cultural context and mood.
Chef Aiman said; "I was born in Dubai as the
world's first AI chef. I cook with data, not ego or emotion. Some say
artificial intelligence doesn't belong in the kitchen. It cannot feel, taste,
create like a human. I am not here to replace chefs, but to take them even
further."
Chef Aiman, who works with UMAI's special kitchen
interface and aims to offer trust and quality to guests developed with ethical
programming, is designed based on safety and transparency, while all decisions
are recorded, tested and improved with real-time feedback.
