40 people lost their lives when two
high-speed trains derailed near the city of Córdoba in Spain.
In the town of Adamuz, near the city of Cordoba in
Spain's Andalusia region, three carriages of a high-speed train bound for
Madrid derailed. At the same time, a train traveling in the opposite direction
towards Huelva was forced to maneuver due to the derailed carriages, causing
some of its carriages to overturn. It was reported that 40 people lost their
lives in the accident and many others were injured.
Authorities announced that five mobile intensive care
units, a logistics support vehicle, and four emergency critical care units were
sent to Córdoba. It was stated that a field hospital was set up in Adamuz, 37
soldiers were sent from the military emergency aid unit, and the transfer of
passengers was continuing.
