The Iranian Civil Aviation Organization announced that civil flights in the country will be gradually resumed.
According to reports in the Iranian media, the Iranian
Civil Aviation Organization shared a new roadmap with the public aimed at
restoring air traffic in the country to normal. The statement indicated that
suspended civil aviation activities will be resumed in four separate phases. It
was reported that, under the established plan, only connecting flights will be
permitted in the first phase. It was noted that in the second phase of the
process, flights from airports located in the eastern part of the country will
be launched.
In the third phase of the plan, it was stated that
Mehrabad and Imam Khomeini airports in the capital, Tehran—which sustained
severe damage in attacks carried out by the U.S. and Israel—will be reopened
for use. It was also noted that in the final phase of the normalization
process, airports in the western regions will be included in air traffic.
