After restating its confidence in the supply of jet fuel, meaning that summer is on, Jet2 has emphasised its industry leadership and consumer champion position after being named Best Airline for the third year running at the prestigious Routes Europe Awards.
The UK’s third largest airline received the coveted
title at a special awards ceremony in Rimini, Italy, which celebrates
excellence in aviation and the companies that consistently get it right, both
for consumers and the industry.
The Best Airline Award celebrates carriers that have
led the way to generate economic growth in destinations, by delivering
industry-leading customer service and working in partnership with airports and
destinations to drive growth and success.
Jet2 was praised by judges for its continued
sustainable growth which has seen the company launch new UK airport bases,
destinations and routes for Summer 26. The company launched flights and
holidays from London Gatwick, its 14th UK airport base in March this year, and
has introduced 37 new routes for Summer 26, as well as three brand-new
destinations for customers to enjoy in La Palma, Palermo and Samos.
Jet2 was also praised for the way it consistently puts
customers first. Yesterday, the company reported a positive update about fuel
supply on the back of dialogue with suppliers, supporting its plans to operate
its flying programme as normal this summer. This positive update follows a
report issued just last week, which saw Jet2 top a UK resilience ranking as the
best protected UK airline against elevated fuel costs.
On top of that, Jet2 was the first UK airline and tour
operator to reassure customers that it would not introduce surcharges on any
booked flights or holidays to cover cost increases, for example jet fuel. Put
simply, the price at which customers book with Jet2 is the price they will pay.
In an industry-leading move, Jet2 removed the surcharge provision across all
flights and holidays, even though it has never been applied.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2: “This is the third
consecutive year that we have been named Best Airline at the prestigious Routes
Europe Awards. This continued success reflects the tireless dedication that we
put into delivering sustainable growth, industry-leading customer service, and
long-term partnerships. Our colleagues, alongside our airport and destination
partners, play a critical role in enabling us to repeatedly achieve recognition
such as this, so I would like to pay tribute to them.”
He added: “We continue to be recognised for being a
strong, stable company with a long track record of being a consumer champion
and we are looking ahead to a busy summer, with our exciting programme
operating as normal. Just recently we demonstrated our industry leadership by
becoming the first airline and tour operator to announce that we will not
introduce surcharges, and with fantastic value to be enjoyed on our
award-winning holidays right now, there has never been a better time to book
with Jet2.”
