With its “Project Sunrise” initiative, Qantas will launch the world’s longest nonstop passenger flight, covering over 16,000 km and lasting 19–22 hours.

According to a report by Euronews, the Australian airline Qantas’s flight, which will cover a distance of more than 16,000 kilometers, will connect Sydney and London nonstop for the first time in history. The flights, which are expected to take between 19 and 22 hours, are scheduled to begin in October 2027.

Qantas Group CEO Vanessa Hudson stated, “Qantas was founded on the belief that the distance between Australia and the rest of the world should never be a barrier. In 2017, we promised that Qantas would push the boundaries of long-haul aviation and connect Australia’s east coast directly to London—something that had never been possible before. Starting in October 2027, that promise will become a reality.”
