Corrections Policy
How to report an error in a Tourism Today News article, and how we correct and record it.
Reporting an Error
If you believe an article contains a factual error, please email [email protected] with the article URL, the passage in question and, where possible, a source for the correct information. Requests are reviewed by the News Director within two business days.
How Corrections Are Made
- Factual errors (figures, names, dates, attributions) are corrected in the article and a correction note is added at the end of the text stating what was changed and when.
- Minor issues such as typographical or formatting errors that do not change the meaning are fixed without a note.
- Material errorsthat affect the substance of a story are additionally flagged in the article headline or standfirst as “Corrected”.
- Retractions are made only where an article cannot be corrected; the URL is retained with an explanation.
Updates vs. Corrections
Developing stories are updated as new information becomes available. Updates that add information are marked with the modification date shown on the article; they are not corrections unless previously published information was wrong.
Right of Reply
Persons or organisations that are the subject of a report may request a right of reply. Substantive responses are published as an update to the original article or as a separate item, at the editor's discretion.
Legal Notices
Formal legal notices should be addressed to the publisher listed on the Masthead.
