1 min read

Italy has issued 'red' alerts in eight cities today due to an extreme heat wave.

The Italian Ministry of Health noted that the heat wave is expected to affect many cities over the weekend and issued the highest-level “red” alert for eight cities: Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Florence, Milan, Perugia, Rieti, and Turin.

For the capital, Rome, an “orange” alert—the second-highest level—was issued today. The Ministry of Health urged people to avoid going outside between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to protect themselves from the heat.
