A new study has revealed where in the world travellers can see the most sights, even without hiring a car.
Between mounting car hire and fuel costs, travellers who can't (or don't want to) drive quickly dismiss holiday spots that require a car to get around. But which unexpected destinations are worth a trip if you don't want to sit behind the wheel?
Irish travel insurance experts, JustCover, analysed some of the world's most popular rural and island getaways to find out which can be explored without a car. Each destination was scored on the accessibility of key attractions on foot or by public transport, the walkability of the destination, available day trips, and availability and frequency of public transport.
