Starting in September 2026, new rules requiring more comprehensive information to be provided to customers regarding the sale of tour packages will take effect in Russia.
According to a report on Gazetem.ru, the new rules will cover the entire industry, including major tour operators, small agencies, and sub-agencies.
When a tour is purchased, the operator or agency is required to warn the customer in advance about all possible difficulties. This includes entry requirements, local laws and customs, as well as potential hazards that may arise during the trip.
Previously, the contract contained only basic details—such as the itinerary, hotel, and meal information. Now, detailed information regarding anything that could affect the vacation will be added to these. Essentially, the sales process is becoming more transparent and honest from the customer’s perspective.
Contracts will be significantly more detailed; travel agencies will also be required to document all nuances to prevent future disputes and complaints.
