Uncertainty gives way to the desire to travel: Last-Minute reservation picks up

2 min read

Bookings rose by a significant double-digit percentage in June compared with the previous month.

Last-minute travel for the summer is gaining significant momentum. As early as June, alltours recorded a significant double-digit increase in bookings for the summer season compared to the previous month—and the trend continues to rise. Türkiye is a key driver of this growth: Bookings there rose by more than 50 percent. Egypt, Greece, and Spain are also seeing above-average demand.

“Many vacationers initially postponed their booking decisions due to economic and political uncertainties. With summer vacation approaching, many are now catching up on their summer bookings. The desire to travel remains as strong as ever. We therefore expect last-minute business to be stronger than last year,” says Dennis Schrahe, CEO of alltours.

Travelers can currently find particularly attractive last-minute deals for destinations with good flight availability and a wide range of hotel options. These include, above all, Türkiye, Egypt, and Tunisia. Depending on the destination, hotel, and travel dates, savings of up to 45 percent are currently possible. There is also still a good selection of deals for Greece and Spain. Those planning a long-haul trip at short notice will currently still find many deals for the Maldives, Thailand, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. Travelers can currently find attractive deals for self-drive vacations in destinations such as the Baltic Sea, Austria, and southern France.
