It was reported that a drone carrying an explosive device was found at Leipzig/Halle Airport in eastern Germany.

Saxony police announced that a bomb disposal robot was dispatched to Leipzig/Halle Airport after an employee noticed an explosive device near Ukrainian cargo planes late at night. It was also reported that a second, unidentified object collided with a cargo plane near the same airport, and the plane landed in Hannover with minor damage.

A police spokesperson stated that the explosive-laden object was detected near parked Antonov aircraft. Officials noted that the detonator had been removed from the device and that the police had carried out a controlled detonation; they announced that flights on the north runway had resumed but that the south runway remained closed.

German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt stated that an investigation into the incident had been launched.
