Thirteen people lost their lives when a plane carrying tourists crashed in Peru.

Jorge Andrade, Police Chief of Nazca, Peru, announced that the plane, which had taken off from the city of Pisco—approximately 240 kilometers from the capital, Lima—crashed in the Nazca countryside. Stating that there were no survivors in the crash, Andrade said, “According to the information we have, 11 passengers and 2 crew members lost their lives. We have recovered the bodies of 4 people.”

Andrade noted that the tourists were participating in a sightseeing flight organized to view the Nazca Lines from the air, and reported that the Civil Aviation Authority has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
