Japan and South Korea rank among the Far East’s most popular destinations, thanks to their unique atmospheres that blend deep-rooted cultural heritage with modern life. Both countries attract more travelers each year with their safe cities, advanced transportation infrastructure, and the diverse experiences they offer throughout the four seasons.
By blending millennia-old traditions with cutting-edge technology, Japan and South Korea—with their historic temples, magnificent palaces, neon-lit colorful streets, and unique culinary hotspots—are making their way onto the travel lists of more and more travelers each year.
According to data from ENUYGUN.com, there has been an approximate 30% increase in airfare sales for Japan and South Korea this year compared to last year. Leading this strong demand for Asia is Japan, which has seen a significant surge of 37% in ticket sales.
Orkun Özkan, Deputy General Manager in charge of the Air Travel Division at ENUYGUN, commented on this momentum in Far East routes: “In particular, the increase in direct flight options, Japan’s visa-free status, and South Korea’s K-ETA convenience have made these destinations much more accessible to travelers than before. The approximately 30% increase we’ve observed in ticket sales specifically for Japan and South Korea indicates that interest in this region has turned into a trend. In particular, the 37% growth we’ve achieved on flights to Japan clearly demonstrates just how decisive visa-free travel and trends are for travelers.”
