It has been reported that red alerts have been issued in 37 departments in France due to a heat wave that is intensifying.
French Government Spokesperson Maud Bregeon announced that the wildfires that began yesterday in the city of Fontainebleau, in the Seine-et-Marne department, are still burning. Bregeon noted that the fire, which spread over a wide area due to wind, has damaged approximately 1,000 hectares. She added that more than 1,000 people were evacuated from the town of Vaudoue in Seine-et-Marne due to the fire and that disruptions were occurring on high-speed train services in the southeast.
Meanwhile, the French meteorological agency Meteo-France announced that a red alert had been issued for 37 departments, most of which are located in the western and central parts of the country.
