Johan Lundgren is set to take over as Chair of the Supervisory Board of TUI AG following the Annual General Meeting in February 2027.
The current Chairman of the Supervisory Board of TUI AG, Dr Dieter Zetsche (73), has informed the members of the Supervisory Board that he will not stand for re-election to the Supervisory Board at the end of his current term in February 2027. Dr Zetsche has been a member of the Supervisory Board since 2018 and has served as its Chairman since May 2019. His current term of office is due to end at the close of the Annual General Meeting in February 2027.
At the meeting, shareholders and employee representatives voted unanimously in favour of electing Johan Lundgren (59) as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. He was nominated from within the board to succeed Dr Dieter Zetsche. Johan Lundgren has been a member of the TUI Supervisory Board since 2025. This ensures that succession and a smooth transition at the helm of the Supervisory Board have been prepared well in advance.
Johan Lundgren is an internationally highly experienced tourism and aviation executive. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of easyJet plc from 2017 until the end of 2024. Prior to this move, Johan Lundgren was a member of the Executive Board and Deputy CEO of TUI Travel plc (UK) and held the same position at TUI AG from 2014 to 2015. He had concluded his role with the TUI Group in the summer of 2015 following the successful merger between TUI AG and TUI Travel plc.
The Swedish-born manager’s tourism career, spanning four decades, began in 1986 at Fritidsresor – now TUI Sweden and part of TUI Nordic.
